This fascinating story begins in 1993, as Jean-Pierre BORN first produced wine and ratafia in his cellar. Les Apéritifs de Philomène were created by the simple and powerful wish not to live from the industrial and synthetics labour but from handicraft instead.
The liquors stillman claims that his love for nature and work well done doesn't hinder at all innovation and this in respect of the tradition and handicraft's object.
Les Apéritifs de Philomène are totally homemade.The non annealed wine gets mixed with flowers from soil and from trees… A sweet and bitter aroma, the delicate refresh from a sweet and fruity nature or otherwise from a bitter and spicy nature.

Philomène brings us to this region, noble, presenting natural contrasts inherited from its land... sweet and bitter. The hardscrabble Fagnes high plateaux bord on the verdant valleys. The Amblève valley shimmering nature offers a permanent green land with its its fruity smelling orchards. Many fairy tales and legends bright up our summer days by stories sharing the elves and fairies happy adventures in a soft and welcoming nature. We are daydreaming for sure.
